In 2010 we decided on a week away in the Lake District at a farmhouse that Ed’s company ran as a holiday getaway. It is pretty remote not far from Loweswater, but there is a pub within walking distance. On the trip were Steve King, Gary Biles, Ian Sumby and Ed Summers. It was a hard week, physically, with a few MTB rides, some tough walks and a climb on a Via Ferrata at Honiston Pass.
The photos below are from this week during which we did two very long hard MTB rides, spent a day on the trails at Winlatter MTB centre, walked to the top of Melbreak, Blencathra and Scaffell Pike and lastly did the Via Ferrata circuit at Honiston. I also seem to remember we ate rather well and had a beer or two.
